| Position Announcement: Assistant/Associate Professor, University of Kansas, School of Engineering.
Position Overview: The Bioengineering Research Center at the University of Kansas invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The individual selected for this position will join a synergistic team of scientists and engineers working together to develop novel therapeutic strategies for biological repair/replacement, clinical diagnostic imaging devices and new approaches to multi-modal structure/property characterization of biologic tissues/materials.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Bioengineering, Material Science/Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering or closely related field and must demonstrate potential for high-quality research and teaching. The Bioengineering Research Center is seeking an outstanding faculty member who conducts innovative research in tissue materials/mechanics, biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, bioimaging, biomaterials or biophysics. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is desirable: acoustics, elastography, or other imaging modalities that are used to define and understand structure/property relationships in biologic constructs.
Responsibilities: Develop a vigorous, extramurally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
Salary/Start Date: Salary and level are commensurate with experience. The starting date will be August, 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter.
