| Title: Motor Control/Biomechanics Postdoctoral Position
Location: Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, USA
Date: December 12, 2007
A postdoctoral position in the Movement Control and Biomechanics Lab at Arizona State University is available immediately to study control and coordination issues in goal-oriented movements from a multilevel perspective. The study involves healthy young adults and is supported by NSF research grant. The goal of our research is to investigate strategies used by the central nervous system to organize goal-directed human movements as well as to study breakdowns in these strategies in special populations. The emphasis is done on understanding how the central control strategies are adjusted to the biomechanical properties of human limbs. A Ph.D. or an equal degree is required. A strong background in one or more of the following areas is preferred: analysis of human movements, motor control, biomechanics, analysis of muscle activity, computational neuroscience. Individuals with bioengineering background are also encouraged to apply. Initial appointment is for two years with the possibility for extension if funds are available. Excellent salary and fringe benefits. Send a CV, brief summary of research interests, and names and contact details of three references to: Dr. Natalia Dounskaia, Department of Kinesiology, Arizona State University, PO Box 870404, Tempe, AZ 85287-0404, E-mail: natalia.dounskaia@asu.edu.
