| POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP RUNNING INJURY LAB UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE NEWARK, DE
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a post-doctoral position in the Running Injury Laboratory at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE beginning June 1, 2008. The laboratory research mission is aimed at understanding relationships between lower extremity mechanics and injury. Our current focus is on retraining faulty gait patterns in individuals at risk for stress fractures, patellofemoral pain syndrome and knee OA. We also have ongoing projects in the areas of imaging and modeling. Responsibilities include oversight of an NIH and a DOD project focused on the short and longterm effect of gait retraining in individuals at risk for stress fractures. The successful candidate will also be involved in mentorship of graduate students enrolled in the interdisciplinary Biomechanics and Movement Science program. A Motion analysis laboratory houses an 8 camera Vicon motion analysis system, 2 Bertec Force Platforms, 16 channel Motion Lab EMG system, and a Quinton treadmill. In addition, we have an Instrumented Treadmill Lab that houses an AMTI instrumented treadmill and an 8 camera Vicon Motion Analysis System. In particular, we are looking for a bright, energetic individual with excellent interpersonal skills. Research experience in lower extremity mechanics, modelling and imaging is preferred. Newark, DE is a university town that is an hour from Baltimore and Philadelphia, and 2 hours from Washington DC, NY City, the mountains and the ocean.
